Here's a new one

The theme for our Christmas eve service at church this year is going to be "All are Welcome at the Manger." My pastor asked if I had any song suggestions related to that theme and for the life of me I can not think of any songs that would work. So, on my way to work this morning I started making up my own song. Anyway, here it is:

Welcome at the Manger

In a little town
On a starry night
A babe was to be born
But there was no room in sight
The inn’s rooms they were all full
There were no friends or family
A manger bed of hay
Was all that there was free

There was no welcome here
On the earth he came to save
There was no great fanfare
To welcome Christ our king

This is a work in progress. I have a little tune to go along with it, but I'm not totally satisfied with the verse yet.

Changes

Just so you all know....and I do use the phrase "you all" very loosely since I don't believe anyone has ever viewed this blog...but anyway, I am doing some changes. I am going to be using this blog to post the songs I write. Anyway, enjoy!

It's a Moxie Fab Stamp Challenge!

Do you guys follow the challenges on Moxie Fab World? There are some awesome Christmas-related challenges going on right now. The first one I have an entry for is the stamping challenge. I made this cute card a while ago, but it has a cute stamped background so it qualifies.
The background is stamped with the Distressed Dots stamp by Unity Stamp Co using Versamark ink. Then I dusted on some Perfect Pearls by Ranger to give it a touch of shimmer.

The chipboard letters are from Basic Grey (painted with a Ranger Paint Dabber, sorry can't remember if it is called Stream or Pool), snowflake accents are by K & Co. The white cardstock is American Crafts, the teal paper is from K & Co and is punched with the Swiss Cheese Punch from EK Success. Had to get my bling in with those sweet red gems!

How Now Red Cow

Isn't she cute? Except for that string of drool coming out of her mouth. But you gotta admit, it just happens sometimes right? I love this red cow, she's so pretty. When the sun shines on her she absolutely glows.
